Introducing Guardian

Extra protection from someone you trust

Who’s Calling screens calls from numbers you don’t know. Guardian lets someone you trust get an alert when one of those calls comes in – so if a scammer rings, you’re not dealing with it alone.

  • Unknown callers are screened before they reach you
  • Your Guardian gets the caller’s number and transcribed screening message
  • One tap for them to call you and check you’re OK
  • Nothing is shared until you choose a Guardian and they accept
What Guardian does

Exactly what happens when an unknown number calls

Calls from people in your contacts ring straight through as normal. Calls from numbers you don’t know are screened first – and with Guardian switched on, someone you trust hears about it too.

Step 1

An unknown number calls

Someone who isn’t in your contacts rings your phone.

Step 2

Who’s Calling screens it

The caller is asked who they are and why they’re calling, so you know before you ever speak to them.

Step 3

Your Guardian gets an alert

Your Guardian sees that a call was screened, when it happened, the caller’s number and a transcription of what the caller said during screening.

Step 4

They check in with you

One tap and they’re ringing you to make sure you were expecting it – before any harm is done.

Two ways to use it

Protect yourself, or someone you love

Set up Guardian for yourself

Choose a son, daughter, partner or friend to be your Guardian. They’ll get an alert whenever Who’s Calling screens one of your calls.

Protect someone else

Worried about Mum or Dad? Send them a request from your own phone. They must approve it before you receive any Guardian alerts – they stay in charge.

What your Guardian sees

Short, clear and only what’s needed to check you’re OK.

A Guardian alert

Your Guardian sees that Who’s Calling screened a call, the time it came in, the caller’s number and a transcription of what the caller said during screening.

That gives them useful context straight away — for example, whether the caller claimed to be from a bank, asked for money or tried to create urgency.

If they’re worried, they tap Call Mum and check she was expecting it. That quick phone call is often all it takes to stop a scam in its tracks.

Guardian alert

Alert history

Every alert is kept in one list for each person you protect, with a short transcript preview, so it’s easy to spot a number that keeps trying and quickly remember what they said.
